MarketBridge seeks a highly motivated individual with prior enterprise sales experience in the market intelligence space. The role is to launch and lead a dedicated demand generation and sales process for our breakthrough DigitalPulse market intelligence solution.

DigitalPulse uniquely combines AI-driven analytics of digital publications and social media dialogue with expert human analysts to create breakthrough insights our clients can’t find through other intelligence sources. DigitalPulse is an annual research contract that provides 7, 30, 90 day reports on customers’ and competitors’ “digital dialogues” and provides Sales & Marketing teams with early awareness signals and suggested market actions to position and respond to key customer and competitor trends.

DigitalPulse is MarketBridge’s lead new client acquisition offering for growing enterprise Sales & Marketing teams. Launched in its “beta” form 2017, the solution has been tested in more than 20 instances in 10 enterprise companies and is currently seeing greater than 60% renewals and expansion to multiple subscriptions per account. As such, the Sales leader has strong product proof points, industry case examples, and client testimonials. DigitalPulse integrates with MarketBridge’s broader solutions and services offerings that provide predictive analytics and content personalization to identify and monetize “hidden” revenues. MarketBridge is company with an entrepreneurial spirit. High performers are recognized and rewarded for their efforts, and you will be working alongside some of the best and brightest people in the industry.

About the Position

The Enterprise Sales Director (ESD) will have a unique opportunity at MarketBridge—selling a breakthrough B2B competitive insights and intelligence product to clients in the technology, financial services, and insurance industries. This role is primarily a sales role, but also has product marketing involvement (i.e., assisting in sales content.) It is a self-managed / self-starter sales role, ideal for individuals who can “do it all”—get on the phone and schedule; conduct first and second visits; and close the deal by tapping relevant experts.

By working with our current account owners, as well as with our sales & marketing teams, the ESD will identify prospects across both current clients as well as new logo accounts. Through a combination of aggressive email, phone and social outreach, the ESD will schedule and conduct both in-person and telephone meetings. At this point, the ESD will gather client needs, demonstrate the product, identify how DigitalPulse will deliver value, write and submit proposals, and close deals.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for marketing, customer insights, social listening and market intelligence and have at least five years of experience in either inside or field sales, preferably selling a bespoke or customized solution.

The Enterprise Sales Director is expected to . . .

  • Meet and exceed weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance and sales targets/quotas.
  • Work to become a subject matter expert (SME) on the product, DigitalPulse. 
  • Create and maintaining a list/database of prospect clients. Develop target outreach plans across both current and new logo accounts that identify the best prospects and buyers.
  • Perform multi touch outreaches to prospects through various channels – cold calling, emails, social selling, to secure meetings with prospects.
  • Write and submit proposals to prospects reflecting the deliverables of DigitalPulse and the value the client will realize inside the contracted period. Travel to prospect as needed to close deals.
  • Work with the marketing team to identify leads coming through various marketing efforts.
  • Build pipelines with channel partners and team members to close sales.
  • Maintain database (Salesforce, CRM, Excel, etc.) with prospective client information & outreach activity.

Background and Skills

The ideal candidate will come to MarketBridge with:

Sales Qualifications:

  • At least five years B2B sales experience selling a semi-customized solution requiring significant customer research, adaptive proposal writing, and solution-based selling
  • Proficient in self-managing the sales process using a CRM system
  • Comfortable in making cold calls and talking to people in a first-time conversation, sending unsolicited emails, and leveraging social networks to forge connections. Willingness to travel to meet clients and close deals
  • Eagerness to “do anything” to hit goals

 Subject Matter:

  • Basic knowledge in marketing, specifically digital and social marketing
  • Competency in understanding how social platforms work (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.,) with a basic understanding of how analytics and insights can be acquired for each
  • Understanding of the value of market/competitive intelligence and primary research to marketers and sales executives
  • Experience working as a “solutions consultant” with clients to help them define needs – must-have solutions

  • Persuasive, goal-oriented, self-motivated and self-directed
  • Eager to expand company with new sales, clients, and territories
  • Tenacity to handle rejection and continue on with a positive attitude
  • Knowledge of B2B solutions-oriented sales process from initiation to close
  • Fluency in MS Office and Salesforce.com (MarketBridge’s CRM tool)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s level degree
  • Previous sales experience in either inside or field sales
  • Self-initiated passion for the arenas of digital marketing, social listening and market intelligence
